Riedel Networks Appoints Timo Koch as Chief Commercial Officer for Media Division

Riedel Networks, a Riedel Group company, today announced that Timo Koch has been appointed to the position of chief commercial officer for its Media Division. Reporting to Michael Martens, CEO of Riedel Networks, Koch will oversee the company’s commercial and business development in the media and entertainment sector, extending its existing connectivity business to broadcast and live events while utilizing the group’s data center potential for new media operations. DTM and Schaeffler Demo the Future of Driving With Electric Race Car Controlled Remotely via Riedel IP Mesh Network

When the remarkable, 1200-horsepower, fully electric DTM Electric Demo Car took to the 4,326-meter-long Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, earlier this month, Riedel Communications’ networking and communications technology enabled DTM Trophy champion Tim Heinemann to drive the car remotely using a state-of-the-art simulator 82 kilometers away. The race car completed a breathtaking driverless lap at speeds of up to 180 kph during the cutting-edge demonstration, the “DTM Electric Remote Run” presented by DTM and Schaeffler, prior to the Sunday race at the Red Bull Ring.

Riedel Networks Accelerates Data Traffic to Asia

Riedel Networks has optimized the round trip time (RTT) to Asia with its new network routes via the Russian and Kazakh mainland. From now on, an IP packet from Frankfurt to Tokyo and back takes only 181 milliseconds instead of 242 milliseconds. The transit time of data between Frankfurt and Hong Kong is also reduced by a significant 27 milliseconds from 197 milliseconds to 170 milliseconds. The new mainland routes will also further increase reliability of the network.
